Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah
Hon. Emmanuel Armah-Kofi Buah is a distinguished fifth-term Member of Parliament representing the Ellembelle Constituency in Ghana since 2009. He holds a Master of Science degree in Management from the University of Maryland, USA, a Bachelor of Arts degree in Social Science with a major in Law from Kwame Nkrumah University of Science and Technology (KNUST) – Ghana, and a Graduate Diploma in Law from the University of Law, UK.
In 2009, Hon. Buah was appointed Deputy Minister of Energy, serving until 2012. As a key member of the late President Mills’ Ghana Gas Task Force, he played an instrumental role in the 2010 development of the blueprint for establishing the Ghana National Gas Company.
This pivotal initiative transitioned Ghana into the gas era, enhancing energy supply and stabilising electricity generation.
In March 2013, President John Mahama appointed him Minister for Energy and Petroleum, and he later served as Minister for Petroleum from December 2014 to January 2017.
During his tenure, Hon. Buah spearheaded the development of the Sankofa-Gye Nyame and Tweneboa-Enyenra-Ntomme (TEN) oil fields, significantly increasing Ghana’s oil and gas production capacity.
