The Deputy Minister of Lands and Natural Resources, paid a working visit to the newly established Minerals Development Fund (MDF) Office in Accra to familiarize himself with the Fund’s operations and ongoing projects.
The visit formed part of the Ministry’s oversight mandate to strengthen collaboration and ensure effective management of mineral royalties for sustainable community development.
Welcoming the Deputy Minister and his delegation, Dr. Hanna Louisa Bisiw-Kotei, Administrator of the Minerals Development Fund, expressed appreciation for the Ministry’s continuous support and briefed the team on the Fund’s progress, achievements and strategic plans.
She highlighted MDF’s commitment to transparency, accountability and impact-driven initiatives that improve livelihoods in mining-affected communities across the country.
The Deputy Minister commended the Administrator and her team for their dedication to ensuring that mining revenues translate into visible development outcomes. He pledged the Ministry’s continued partnership with the Fund to enhance efficiency and promote responsible mineral resource management.
The visit concluded with a tour of the new office facility, where the Deputy Minister interacted with staff and encouraged them to remain committed to delivering on the Fund’s mandate.
